Today was my first time here and I was met with such kindness and empathy. It was the first clinic I have that been to that there was an adorable dog present. I struggle with odontophobia so this was such a pleasant surprise and the sweet pup was very comforting. If you have any anxiety or difficulty with dental work, I highly recommend coming here. I had a very disappointing experience at Cadboro Bay Dental. As a new patient, I came in for an initial exam and cleaning. The hygienist began by taking mandatory x-rays, which required holding an uncomfortable device in my mouth. The whole experience felt rushed and unprofessional. I was initially told my 90-minute appointment would cover the entire cleaning and exam, but they only completed a quarter of the cleaning, lasting about 60 minutes, and then billed for a longer duration. The doctor’s exam lasted only about two minutes. Even after explaining that I’d raise my hand if I truly needed a break, the hygienist insisted that my teeth were overly sensitive, suggesting freezing and splitting my cleaning into multiple appointments. I have never been told I’d need 4-5 HOURS across multiple visits for a standard cleaning, nor have I needed freezing for a cleaning before. During the process, I felt discomfort in my throat and requested to spit but was told to use the suction instead. The hygienist’s manner was dismissive and made me feel uncomfortable. When I needed to spit due to throat discomfort, she refused and became visibly annoyed when I insisted. I ended up spitting into a paper towel just to manage the discomfort. Overall, I felt their care, judgment, and billing practices were inadequate. I went to Cadboro Bay Dental based on high Google reviews but left questioning how they achieved that rating. I hope sharing my experience helps others make a more informed decision.
I've been going to Cadboro Bay Dental in my 7th year now . I just moved to Victoria back then I wasnt working so a 3 min walk made sense. My teeth were suffering so was my smile . They treated me very very well with the respect you get when people know your worth and want you to succeed. The dental work is excellent and painless for me always being made sure I was comfortable. I moved away to the mainland for a year middle of 2023 so new dentist again. Prices were higher and i felt rushed making me miss the good people at My dental office by the bay. I was fortunate and moved back to Victoria landing in Esquimalt way on the other side of the island mid 2024 . I happily drive the distance now getting heartfelt assistance from everyone at Cadboro Bay Dental . I just had my checkup and 2nd cleaning done yesterday by Terrie Lyn - I hope I spelled it right - She brought up when I spoke of my work 6 months earlier so I felt heard. Conversations of personal growth and mindfullness made it a pleasurable uplifting experience ✨️ Oh Ya You gotta see my beautiful smile it's energetically intoxicating 😁

Right from the efficient and really helpful front desk staff, to the fantastic dental hygienist and assistants, and the expertise and kindness of the doctor, my experience there was the very best.
