I know inflation is rampant everywhere but it seems to show a lot here in country grocer. People are nice, but what bothering me is the quality of the produce. Sometimes the carrots and broccoli are so limp it’s like they’ve already been steamed before I even leave the store. I shop around between different groceries but I seem to say “I’m not paying that” more times in country grocer than anywhere else. Even though they are the closest I still shop elsewhere most of the time.
And while I am bashing anyway I have to wonder about the pop out price signs right on top of the regular signs showing the same darn price. It’s not like they should be bragging so why try to psych us into thinking the pop out signs are showing anything different.
But the people are very nice.

Love Country Grocer. Great it's a Canadian family business, and I find prices cheaper than other Victoria grocery stores, a good alternative to the paucity of Loblaw stores in Victoria. The sour jujubes are on the money, recommend, you can only buy them at country grocer. Good prices for orchids too, Venus flytraps are a cool find too.

Went in for a quick supply stop. Was well organized. But what got our attention was the cashier. Hats off to Dano! Our kid kept talking about him in the car with his tricks and jokes. Man deserves recognition.

This store is always a great shopping experience. I definitely recommend the bakery for their amazing birthday cakes, and the fresh salads in the deli as well. Also the sushi is delicious and made fresh in store! Most of the cashiers are wonderful and friendly, and we shop here all the time.

We've been shopping at Country Grocer Esquimalt since 1997. Since grocery prices went up, CG has better prices overall than SaveOn or Thrifty Foods. The cashiers are consistently fabulous. I always feel well treated.
