This store is incredible, with so many beautiful antiques and books that have been carefully collected. The book selection is amazing and the condition of the books is also very impressive. Rod is a lovely man and was very helpful, I was so sad the hear this store is closing. When entering the store you feel as if you’ve been transported to another time when things were simpler and in my opinion better. Make sure to stop by before it closes, you’ll surely find an artifact or two and experience the last of one of Sidney’s historic and finely curated stores.

My partner and I were so excited to have a look at this shop only to feel so unwelcomed by the elderly lady at the front desk. No greeting, no offer of any help was provided. Even when we were looking at the items displayed in the glass case which was right in front of the lady she continued to remain silent and seemed disinterested in making any effort of offering conversation or assistance. As much as I wanted to purchase one of their beautiful tea sets the cold demeanour discouraged me from doing so. I was very disappointed by this shops experience.

It's heartbreaking to see a few upset reviews about this store - I've visited here about four times but the owners are always very kind. And their collection is amazing! You will find something you like for sure 🍀 If you have a backpack just be mindful as the aisle is very narrow.

Sunday afternoon, lights are on in store and we see someone in the store. We assume it is open and open the door to walk in, only to be greeted by a very unfriendly older gentleman who grufly states "HEY ! We are not open" and turns and walks away. Sad intro to a store. Will not return.

The owner of this store has no people skills and doesn't know his inventory as well as he should having been in business for many years. He thinks it's OK to sell someone 4 mugs displayed together in a large Portmeiron Botanic Garden series collection when one of the four mugs is from an entirely different Portmeiron series called 'Pomona'. This was not pointed out to me by the sales clerk when I purchased what I thought was a set of four Botanic Garden mugs. When I discovered the mismatch on the same day and requested a refund, I was told they don't give refunds. After much discussion with the sales clerks and the owner, the owner reluctantly agreed to allow an exchange, but still insisted that the mugs were identical 'except for the stencil'. As an antique dealer, the owner should appreciate that someone who purchases four mugs together displayed in a Botanic Garden collection consisting of many other pieces from the same series, would expect all four mugs to be from the Botanic Garden series and he should understand why that would be important to the purchaser. An apology would in fact have been more appropriate than an argument. All I can say is if you are shopping at this store, be very careful that you check to make sure what you are purchasing is what you think you are purchasing because I am now out of pocket over $136 having had to exchange the mugs for pieces that I really didn't need.
