We chartered the 45ft cat for a week and had one of the best vacations ever. We opted for a skipper and Ken was the greatest. He was a gentleman, a professional, an amazing teacher and just a great human being. He took our daughter under his wing and taught her how to sail. she was sailing on her own within hours w the biggest grin. Now she is interested in sailing... something I couldn't do. He also brought all the fixings to make pizza from scratch and taught our two daughters to do it all step by step. They loved it and my wife and I got a night away from the galley. We had Larry the last night and he was awesome too. He went above and beyond to get us in or near Tod Inlet to see the fireworks at Butchart Gardens when there was no space to anchor or dock. Thanks so much Larry, Ken and Island Charters. We'll see you again.

We recently completed our 4th bare boat charter with Island Cruising and we will be booking again next season. The reason we keep coming back is the quality of the fleet and management. For example when we arrived to pre-board we were told a previous crew burnt out the bow thruster on the boat we booked so we were given a significant upgrade in lieu. When I the skipper had to leave early for a family emergency, Island Cruising arranged on extremely short notice for a professional skipper/instructor to replace me thus allowing my son to keep sailing and complete ASA101/103 certifications. This turned a very unfortunate circumstance into a very positive learning experience. Many thanks to Larry and his team!

I have chartered with Island Cruising a number of times now and Larry has worked hard to provide the experiences and advice when we needed it. He was professional on the occasions when we have had hiccups. On this latest trip we had a great time and the boat worked well. A great way to see the Gulf Islands.

Wish I could give this guy negative stars. Absolutely horrible experience in August 2023. Larry is a scam artist and WILL find a way to get money out of you for “damages” to his boat. If you’ve rented in the past, please think twice about renting a charter from this company again if you want to keep your money and sanity. Photos of the boats on the website show beautifully up-kept yachts when in reality they are out dated and the tarps and bimini are moments from crumbling into the ocean. Larry is rude, inconsiderate and incredibly challenging to work with, if you can even call it that. Boooo on him for ruining this historically lovely company.

For us Floridians, going to the Pacific NW is – aside from a very long flight – it’s a crazy proposition.
Why go to the 'cold' temperatures, without being able to jump in the water, if we have the Caribbean so close to us?
WRONG!
This past June we spent a week sailing around Victoria Island. It was one of the most beautiful sailing trips in my 40 years of sailing. “Magically scenic” doesn’t even start to describe it and the sailing conditions were outstanding.
Special mention goes to the team at Island Cruising, led by Captain Larry. All very professional and our boat was in truly outstanding shape. She was not your standard run-of-the mill sailboat, but a very well taken care of vessel, by people that know what sailors want to feel ‘at home’. We can’t wait to go back…we HIGHLY recommend them.
Thanks,
Carlos.
