Very large store over two-levels with central escalators. Good selection of household items, contractors needs, and DIY stuff. Usually kinda quiet when I visit. A Tillicum Mall anchor with lots of parking. Easily accessible by #11 - 8 -21 -22 from downtown and #11 - 26 buses from UVic.
Great in person, terrible via the phone. I've tried calling them on different occasions for different things. In person, they have great customer reps who will help you figure things out, like how to reattach the legs of an antique chair. Over the phone, they will bounce you between customer service and the department to spend several minutes on hold each time before ignoring your request to please try something else and then put you on hold again to hang up on you.
Avoid This Store at All Costs Their return policy is only 90 days, and after that, you're stuck dealing with the manufacturer. We had a solar floodlight that filled with water after the first rain and a ceiling fan that stopped working just outside the 90-day window—neither of which were refunded. The products they sell are low-quality, and many are made to break quickly, especially outside of trusted name brands. Add to that the fact that it's nearly impossible to find staff who can help. One employee even asked me how to spell "receptacle" when I was looking for one. The staff are unhelpful and lack product knowledge, with only a few exceptions. If you want good service and quality products, go to Home Depot or Costco instead. Don’t waste your time or money here.
Bought a fan that was clearly incorrectly put together - brought it back to hopefully exchange it just to find the same problem with the next fan. Clearly these were half assembled and then returned. Asked to speak to a manager where we met Brady who could not even be bothered to look or talk to us, not even mention apologize. We use to frequent Lowes but after this experience we will not be back. Very disappointed in the lack of customer experience and shocked at how rude Brady was.
