I started buying jewelry from the Mayfair store and then took my business to the Hillside store.
We've bought several thousand dollars of jewelry from Hillside and it was decent service until now, April 2024. We brought in a ring to solider the rings together which was three in total. They did two already and looks great. Then we wanted the third solider for the wedding and after 3 weeks we went in and was told they don't do that anymore but they asked if we would like it cleaned. Sure why not, well 5 days later 2 days before the wedding they keep neglecting to call when ready my wife went in and asked about the rings and sure enough they had them, but now there's a $112 charge if you pay by debit or $500 if using flexcity credit card. Really?????? How come it wasn't free? They have free ring cleaning sign posted almost every week. Not too mention when we asked about our life time warranty on 3 rings they're saying we never signed up for it. Why have thousands of dollars in jewelry without a warranty on the diamonds and rings. We were told we bought the warranties. That's what happens when you have new staff every time we went there and we're told the others don't work there anymore. Well that's enough, after 5 years and thousands of dollars later, we're never going back and we're telling everyone the horrible expensive service.
People don't be fooled, don't go there. You'll be ripped off like we were. When we purchased my second ring we were told it can be sized, go in there and what do you know, can't be sized. Now I'm stuck with a wedding ring that's a bit big on me, thanks for nothing.

The manager at this location was above and beyond helpful in tracking my missing online order. The customer service team in Australia was useless in tracking it down but the manager at hillside was able to figure out the status of my order and then further offered helpful solutions and follow ups for me. I would definitely shop at this location rather then ever ordering online.

I went into Michael Hill Hillside today to buy a present for my lovely wife. I had some idea what I wanted but also needed a bit of guidance. I was positively blessed to encounter Wendy and a lovely young lady who was on her first day but also fantastic (didn't catch her name, sadly).
Between the two of them, I came away with some very nice gifts and never felt pressured but simply assisted in one of the best customer service experiences I have had in recent memory. This right here is why shopping in person is better than online. The personal interaction, suggestions, enjoyable conversation, and overall experience were fantastic. I can't wait for my wife to open her presents.
Great experience, I will gladly return and direct others to shop here.

Spent more than I should have thinking I was paying for quality, after one day of wearing my new earrings they broke and I tried to bring them back and they said sorry good luck and wouldn’t offer a new pair or exchange. Pretty annoyed I paid the extra for quality for them to break off that quickly! Wouldn’t recommend.
