Boat ran great and we saw orcas, humpbacks, sea lions, dolphins and a bald eagle all in the first 3 hours of rental. Was an epic decision to rent this boat. By the end, dolphins were like squirrels. Just stopped pointing them out we saw so many.
Docked at Stuart island state park and Friday harbor in the afternoon and did some sight seeing on land.

Full day rental of the 20' Hewescraft. Straightforward paperwork and instructions by helpful staff. Normal safety considerations. No mechanical issues. Will not catch crab, but had a great time.

So, unfortunately, I cannot say that I was actually able to rent a boat from Orcas Boat Rentals, but it was not due to any fault of their own. I planned a trip to visit another island with my family (we live in California), and I reserved a boat rental through them for our trip (much cheaper than a charter boat, by the way). While we were on the trip, my lovely husband thought that a pork chop was a piece of bread, and chomped down on it without thinking about the bone. That resulted in his tooth breaking off and us having to do some drastic changes to our plans to deal with this occurrence. I called them the next morning, and they were very understanding. Worked with me and everything turned out great. I am very thankful that they have such great customer service, and when we go up to the San Juan Islands again next year, I will definitely be renting a boat though them.

Great staff and service. We did a multi day rental and it was well worth it. Adds a whole new dimension to your San Juan Islands visit!

Had a great time. The staff was very helpful in providing resources to make it an enjoyable experience. Next time I go back to the island I will be using their services again
