The cute little trinkets caught my eye while I was passing by. I had the pleasure of meeting Julius, he was such a sweet older man with a gentle demeanour.
He told me about the history of the shop and how it has been around since the 40s!
I was visiting Victoria for the first time, and he definitely was the highlight of my trip.

Walked in to buy some beverages and the first thing I heard was the man tell the woman (presumably husband and wife) in there that I look crazy in their native language, Cantonese.
I told him I can understand what he said because my wife and in-laws speak Cantonese. He said "good for you". As I was walking out (without buying anything.. because.. logic) I simply told him he should he careful because you never know who can understand him.
He contended that he said "everything respectful"... well there is no respectful way to call someone crazy or say that they look crazy.. especially when it comes to a first impression you're making with customers that've never met you.
How they can stay in business with having a reputation that precedes them so hard is absolutely beyond me..

This store is absolutely dreadful. The woman working there is incredibly rude and lacks any sense of patience. We purchased a pair of batteries for an outrageous $10, which is an absolute rip-off. Furthermore, she deceitfully advised us to buy the batteries first, let us try fitting our camera, indicating a refund if it did not fit. However, when we returned within minutes, having discovered their poor quality and lack of compatibility, she callously refused to honor her word! She is nothing short of a deceitful liar and a disgrace to customer service. I've never encountered such dishonesty and disrespect.

I used their vending machine outside as I used to do, and I put in a dollar of change, forgetting that the pop costs two dollars, not one. Unfortunately, the coin return button did not work, so naturally I went inside to see about getting my dollar back. What came next was horrible. The man at the front desk told me he could give me a Coke, but he’d need my phone number. Why he’d need that information for a two dollar product is beyond me. He also was insistent that I could only choose a Coke, and yelled this at me when I asked if I could choose a Sprite, since they were offered in the vending machine as well as in the store. The whole time I was assuming that he was offering the Coke for a dollar less as a consolation for losing the dollar. I was very wrong. While I got the Coke from inside, the female employee was checking the machine outside. She came back in with a loonie and kept yelling that the machine was working and that it was all my fault for not putting in two dollars. She kept asking over and over why I was trying to pay less than the required amount in a super hostile manner. The man pulled the Coke back and said I couldn’t have it anymore. Awful experience where I felt at fault. Will not be going back again, or using that vending machine either. Yikes!
