We have been on our trip for 4 months with our transit camper van. During our trip we need many times to do oil changes. Van Isle Ford at Port Alberni is one of the best. They are great employees and made me feel like home no stress at all. They gave us very good quick service while we were passing the town to Tofino. They even gave us a free car wash. Very pleasant experience!!!

I am very impressed with Mark and the service staff at Van Isle Ford. I was visiting Port Alberni when my older Ford Freestar had issues. They took the van in right away, arranged for a rental car and ride to the rental car place. Mark let me know the issue within 24 hours. I did go ahead with the repairs (brakes etc) and got the van back within a business day of the issue being identified. I have now arrived safely back in Calgary. I knew there was a shuddering issue and was told by someone in Alberta it was okay - could wait for new brakes but I am so glad it turned out as it did. Getting the new brakes in Port Alberni was such a relief. I used the vehicle a lot more on the island as well as the on the trip home. Thanks so much Mark and your team for helping out an out of towner. I see a lot of similar comments so I am glad your customers recognize the efforts!

First visit to this dealer was a month ago with my 12' F450, went pretty good.
Second visit last week didn't go as well.
Mark my advisor lacked communication and detail, dropping the ball on my requested copy of pictures of broken bolts and original quote, not receiving them until 6 days later.
Lacey the manager tried to help. Though she didn't seem to have much empathy with my situation of needing my truck done and seemingly lacked knowledge of my truck and its required work, having to ask Jack the tech to talk to me on the phone. I would expect a service manager to have more knowledge, empathy and understanding. When I expressed my timeline concerns, it didn't seem to matter.
Layla, taking over for Mark was absolutely amazing. She should be the service manager. Her communication was amazing, was thorough, wealth of knowledge, shows empathy and sympathy and understanding when it matters most. Absolutely awesome.
Long story short, (not enough characters allowed for every detail).
Brought my truck in for diag on Monday. Booked the work for Thursday/Friday, being told most if not all work could get done, at least the main ones, oil leak and NOX sensor that was diagnosed. Brought in late afternoon of Wednesday so they had it for Thurs. Halfway through Thurs, was told broken bolts on EGR valve, taking longer, won't be done for my planned trip that Sat. Had to reschedule, losing several thousands in profits. Was told Friday that it will stretch into Mon, but would be done Mon. So, I rescheduled my Ferry reservations for 515am Tues, as well as customers, unfortunately losing a few customers, (not cool). During Thurs/Fri, no real updates. Come Mon at 1235pm, I call, not hearing anything, leave a message with sales. I call back an hour later, leave a second message. Approx 30 mins later, get a call, truck won't be done until Tues, (next day). Not happy. They said taking longer. So, I cancel my ferry reservation a second time and reschedule everything for Wed. Get a text Tues saying they need until Wed. WHAT? This can't be happening. I said don't do the NOX or balljoint I had requested being fixed, just finish the oil leak, (valve covers, 11.9hr book time), so that I can have my truck back. I spoke to the tech mid-day ish, as I wanted to know what was taking so long. He said they were waiting on a new EGR valve that had just arrived at that very moment. Excuse me? I was never told it needed to be replaced. $900+ part and wasn't told it was being replaced. Ridiculous. I stated I would be there at 450pm to pick up my truck. They proceeded to tell me that if it didn't stay until Wed, there would be no warranty on the repair. Seriously? Original quote was for $6700 & change for the oil leak, NOX sensor and balljoint. I ended up paying $6030.00 ish just for the oil leak. I was charged 2.5hrs to drill out broken bolts on the EGR valve they ended up replacing. Why was I charged? Then I was charged .5hr to install EGR when its removal and reinstall is part of the 11.9 quoted for the oil leak fix. Tech has 23.5hrs clocked time, I was charged 15hrs, for a 11.9hr job, (I have AllData and can see book times, I won't comment further on that matter). What was the additional 4.1hrs for, inexperience? I was called 3 days later by the parts manager to inform me they neglected to charge me for the EGR valve, that he would give it to me for cost for the inconvenience at $850. Ok wait, when the tech calls for a special order part, its supposed to be put on the work order to order. Why wasn't it. Parts advisor, parts manager, service advisors x2 and a service manager all didn't put this part on the bill and thats my fault? Then the parts manager Mike proceeds to tell me it was because, "you were in a rush to get your truck back and it got over looked". Excuse me, not my fault! Me in a rush when you had my truck for 6 days? I was told 2 days, not 6 with the request for a 7th day. So, if all the work was to have been done, it would have been around $8700. $2000 MORE than the original quote without a call/heads up. Never again, unreal.

Van Isle Ford in Port Alberni have an excellent team of professionals from the front desk service & parts department. The oil change light came up on my dash I called them from my bronco and they had me in the next morning and the service was completed. Two months ago I had a low tire pressure come up on the dash, I added air on 2 occasions the 3 time I called ford in PA and the had me in the same day I and fixed it, no concerns since. I am a very happy customer at Port Alberni Ford. Thank you for the excellent service.
