To reply to one of the comments below, I have never received any food or compensation for this review. From my history of reviews you can see I have an unbiased opinion on establishments. I do want to say this place has turned around since I've been there. Not a full 360 but on its way. It was terribly managed before and near impossible to get any communication with CAPREIT but whatever they've done in the past while has been great. I've been able to get through when needed, I get timely responses, James in particular has been incredible! He really cares about your concerns and treats you the way a tenant should be treated. I'd give this a 4 star review if not for him, he really does make the difference! It will still take some time to fully gain back my trust but this does look to be the start of something promising. And you can be sure I'll update my review if needed.
Do not trust these reviews from today these people were giving away food to ask for 5 star google reviews for the building. I've been renting around canada for 20 years. I'm currently renting with capreit and never have i felt more like an unappreciated cash cow to a landlord in my life. The guy who set up the rental was great, but even during that process there were red flag as other staff members were just so lazy and rude (and this was when we trying to get a rental... imagine what they're like once they already have you on a contract!). Avoid at all costs!!! And if you do rent here - expect max rent increases every chance they have. Expect eviction notices (even if you pay on time and they just mess up on their end checking payment info, no phone calls, no emails, straight to an embarrassing eviction notice that you get to return home to... and don't expect any real apology after either!)
Been living under Capreit at Victor apartments for over 2 years now and have no complaints. Building is well taken care of and kept clean. It's a good place to live.
I really loved living in this building. Lots of character, lots of light and the best location. Great proximity to beacon hill park, cook street village and the beach!
